Buckle in U.S. 36 in Broomfield forces overnight closure

A part of U.S. 36 buckled Sunday night time in Broomfield, shutting the freeway down in a single day, in response to the police division.

Westbound U.S. 36 reopened at mile marker 46.8 early Monday morning, in response to a 4:25 a.m. publish on X from the Broomfield Police Department.

It’s unclear what prompted the highway to buckle, and the Colorado Division of Transportation didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark Monday.

The final catastrophic failure on U.S. 36 occurred almost six years in the past, when a “slope failure” prompted an eastbound overpass of the freeway to break down close to Church Ranch Boulevard in Westminster on July 12, 2019.

The collapse shut down the eastbound lanes for almost three months as development crews repaired the overpass’s embankment and retaining wall.

Investigators mentioned the collapse may have been fueled by design flaws within the retaining wall’s drainage system and heavy rains throughout development.

This can be a creating story and could also be up to date.
