Breaking news has Democrats in shock: they’re actually being arrested for harassing and impeding ICE officers. And predictably, they can’t understand why.
After months of watching Democratic politicians encourage attacks on federal agents, obstruct immigration enforcement, and shield criminal aliens from deportation, the Trump administration is finally holding them accountable. The arrests have sent shockwaves through the Democratic establishment, which apparently believed their political positions made them immune to the law.
The Newark Incident That Changed Everything
The most dramatic confrontation occurred at the Delaney Hall ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey, where three Democratic House members—Representatives Bonnie Watson Coleman, Rob Menendez Jr., and LaMonica McIver—clashed with federal agents during what they claimed was a “congressional oversight visit.”
The Department of Homeland Security alleges the lawmakers “stormed” the facility, leading to the arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka for trespassing after he “ignored multiple warnings to remove himself” from the premises.
But this wasn’t just another protest gone wrong. DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin revealed that the department has “body camera footage of some of these members of Congress assaulting our ICE enforcement officers, including body-slamming a female ICE officer”.
The footage, later released by DHS, shows the chaos that erupted when federal agents attempted to maintain order. One video appears to show Rep. LaMonica McIver using her body to push past federal agents to follow Baraka after he was placed in handcuffs.
